Hike & Sail Experience

Embark on a journey through pine tree forests and islets

  • Discover routes with spectacular vistas

  • Visit local villages on the islands

  • Feel the thrill of sailing

Highlights

Paths designed by our mountain guide, Irene, to combine the marvellous nature and bits of the local life. We are passing through forests, and we are visiting villages, with people welcoming us with homemade delicacies.

A generous diversity in geography and seascapes, from beautiful secluded bays on deserted islands to cosmopolitan little harbours. With its many islands and favourable wind conditions, the area is practically designed for sailing.

The sun rises, and the day is yours to enjoy. Read a book in the hammock, snorkel in the crystal clear water, stand-up paddle to a cave, or simply soak up the sun with a refreshing beverage in hand.

Accept the hospitality of the old lady, who offers you her home-made pie and try the delicacies of Skopelos and Alonissos islands at the cherry-picked eateries, as we have done for years.

The hiking part

Follow three unique hiking paths, on the islands of Skopelos and Skatzoura, as well as Pelion, famous for its lush vegetation. Walk through the pine forests, visit the most beautiful of the numerous churches, take a break at charming villages and make it to the top of the mountains for a view of the Aegean Sea.

We are starting the activity early in the morning, to avoid the hot midday sun. The distances vary from 5Km to 20Km, with elevation gains between 200 m to 500 m. Irene has the experience to adjust the intensity, based on the group’s average condition.

Ideally, bring along your hiking shoes, but you should also be fine with normal comfortable sport shoes. Trekking poles are not necessary. A small gym towel will also be helpful.

Your Greek mountain guide, Irene, will lead you in English.

Irene Pol Atsidas

“Put one foot in front of the other; repeat… The simplest guide to a journey of being present, being where you belong, and witnessing the beauty all the way, not just at the summit.”

Yoga Instructor Image

Former Greek skiing champion, Irene shows a great affection for the mountain and everything relevant to it. After giving up her skiing carrier in 2011, she kept visiting the slopes, winter and summer. On weekends, she is working as a ski instructor for children and as a mountain guide, leading groups through the nature and to mountains tops, such as Olympus. Her endearing personality guaranties a lovely time both on board and on walk!

The Sporades

Skiathos

Home of Alexandros Papadiamantis, an influential Greek novelist, it’s covered in lush pine forests. It is also the island with the most vivid nightlife in the area. For us who visit it via the sea, Lalaria beach is our hidden heaven.

Skopelos

Known for the famous “Mamma Mia” church and loved for its traditional cheese pie, Skopelos offers stunning hiking paths that lead to monasteries and chapels, with Stafilos being one of the must-visit beaches.

Alonissos

The centre of the largest marine protected area in Europe, a shelter for the rare Mediterranean monk seal. In Chora, the old capital of Alonissos, you’ll find an amazing piano bar, overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Skatzoura

The absolute serenity and privacy on the unexplored waters of the most remote uninhabited island of Sporades. A hiking trail to an abandoned monastery and a beach just for you is Skatzoura’s unique luxury.
